Greetings to you all. What a stress filled time of year it has been for many of us over the past few weeks and when the shows begin on any given night anymore, the band releases it’s energy for sure!
Friday Night we were in Hallstead P.A.- Great show - good crowd and the place stayed full the entire evening. It's always a plus to see people fill your dance floor - just dancin away. It definitely motivates the band when the crowds are active not to mention it makes the night fly by as well. Thank you Hallstead people.
Saturday night was the “CABIN FEVER PARTY” for our local ABATE motorcycle organization. Once again we played to a packed house for the better part of four hours. We rocked the joint. So much, I couldn't speak the next day. With two hard core Rock & Roll shows back to back, they are tough on any singer’s vocal chords. But that’s what we live for - hell raisin’ and group participation. And dancers, lots of dancers – yeah! And Special thanks to PM2 and Pakrat for coming up and adding some additional flavor to the evening. Both of you were awesome - thank you!
On to this weekend:FRIDAY we’re back up to DAVY’S for our monthly show. The Band hits the stage at 9pm
SATURDAY- We’re at BABCOCK'S on Rt. 7 in Wells Bridge. The show begins 9pm.
We hope to see you all this weekend at either, or both shows.
Have a great week and keep the faith. Peace out,
Mikee Dee^^

Short Change Band - End of March, 2012
Well Hello everyone, it’s just another week here in paradise. We have 70 degrees and sunshine, and it’s only the third week in March.
Here’s a quick review of the past weekend: Friday Nights Show at the The Hitchin' Post went well and we had a pretty good crowd for the entire evening. They even asked us to play a few extra songs at the end of the evening.
Saturday’s St. Patty's day seemed uneventful as most of the people (I think) celebrated on Parade day a few weeks earlier. We stayed home for amateur night after a little dinner out with family and friends- corned beef and cabbage.
Sunday (the entire day of 75 degrees and sunny) was spent in Fire School. Every time the Harleys rode past the Fire House it made me want to cry being stuck in there.
I've haven't seen a year quite as nice weather wise so early since the early 90's for sure. Usually we are fighting a snow storm or bad weather coming home from Daytona. (I probably still should have gone anyhow)
This week we have two shows:
Friday Night 3/23 we are at the Hallstead Legion in none other than our regional neighborhood just the to south in P.A. The show starts 8pm.
Saturday Night it’s the ABATE Cabin Fever Party Live at Davy's Last Chance Saloon. This is an open event and the public is welcome, so come on down to main street in downtown Chenango Forks. The show starts 8pm.
Two early Shows, two great nights. One north and one south, so we hope to see you all over the weekend to say hi. We even spread the show locations out for you!
Have a great week and get out enjoy our non typical spring weather.
Peace,
Mikee^Dee

Short Change Band - Mid March, 2012
Well I think it's safe to assume at this point that spring has sprung for 2012. I won't pull the scoot out ‘til the third soaking rain passes, but that's another story for another day.
We had a crazy weekend (last weekend) with one show to report on: Seebers in Smithville Flats.
Once again we had a great time and a great show to a group of highly enthusiastic followers. I think the crowd enjoyed our brand of Classic Outlaw Country Rock as they burned up the dance floor song after song.
If I had to pick one downfall, it would be the loss of one hour of your life as daylight savings time made its annual spring appearance..
I never quite figured out what it is about daylight savings time, hell if I can get use to paying $4 for a gallon of gas, I can adapt to any sunrise and sunset pattern. (really) The things we deal with here in the north are quite amazing.
SHOWS:
This week we are back at the infamous HITCHIN' POST RESTAURANT – on Rt. 7 - Belden Hill on Friday night 8pm. C'mon down and let’s kick off a little dust off your bottom. We hope to see you all.
In closing, we are putting the finishing touches on our latest CD "Just about to lose my mind". We have twelve brand new cuts of original tunes, All written/co written by the man himself - KW Winters with musical arrangements by Darrell and myself, and studio magic captured by none other than the man of sound: Dean - from Goble Studios in Candor NY.
This nice piece of music that took the Short Change Band the better part of eighteen months to complete.
Amen! Pick up a copy and see for yourself.
And finally, coming up in about six weeks, it’s Our 4th Annual "Feed the People/Share the Music- Chow Run". Put APRIL 28TH beginning at noon on your calendar. There will be 4 acts, 4 sets, and a Jam. Dinner and a show for $12 a person, plus Door Prizes and Raffles. All of this will happen Live at THE CENTRAL HOTEL, Nineveh NY. All proceeds will be donated to THE AFTON FOOD PANTRY.
To date, our Jamborees have raised close to $5,000 in donations to the Pantry, and we couldn't have done this without your support. Thank you all! More news as we get closer.
Be well, Be happy, I'm gone.
Peace,
Mikee^Dee

Short Change Band - Beginning of March, 2012
Greetings once again. Here’s a quick ditty here to bring you up to date with the happenings of the Short Change Band.
We had a fantastic last weekend and I'd like to share a couple thoughts with about it with you all.
Saturday afternoon we started the evening event with a sweet tailgate (kick off) party up to the ranch.
It began with a Barbeque of Rib Eyes that were cooked to perfection and some shrimp basted in garlic, and a tossed salad and some whiskey. (Need I say more?)
It give a whole new meaning to the word “cookout” when the wind is blowing 40 - 50 mph, but we got it done.
We went on to the Central Hotel, with a head full of whiskey and a belly full of grub and we were ready to play some kick ass country honk. And, just as we were ready to start the soundcheck, we had a couple of friends show up from the Fabulous Blue J's band {Susie and Jake} Lordy, Lordy - did we have a party now!
For the better part of 4 1/2 hours we rocked the Central Hotel to death. The sweet double leads between K.W. and Jake were absolutely awesome. It had DD in a whirlwind with all that pickin’ going on at one time.
Also some sweet velvety vocals from none other than Sweet Susie. The night was complete. And when it was over, we all looked at each other and said (“damn that was good”) and yes it was. Thank you Blue J's!
We’re going to have to do that again sometime. Those Blue J's rock. (Yeah they do!)
There was also a bit of excitement from our "new release" CD. (look for the official coming-out party here in the next few weeks when all the art work has been completed)
People who purchased the new album last weekend will have a bit of a collector’s item in their hands as time goes on. (Shh don't tell them)
And finally, this week’s show:
This Saturday night at 9pm. Once again we head back to downtown Smithville Flats at SEEBERS TAVERN. Come out and give a listen, maybe even pick up our latest CD as well! (“Just about to lose my mind")
Hey have a great week, and we hope to see you then,
Peace,
Mikee^^Dee
