Greetings to you all,
What a fast weekend it was and as I look back on it. I can actually say to you all that four great events can be taken away from it.
First, what a great show we got to witness Friday night at Tioga downs. The Outlaws were fantastic.
Second, we watched the wounded warriors softball game Saturday evening as they played against the Binghamton Police agencies. The wounded warriors won 23-14! What a dedicated group of service men doing what they still love to do, the only difference was this time as a personal challenge.
After the escort to Cooperstown on Sunday to play at the baseball Hall of Fame, they actually returned back to Binghamton to attend our Memorial Day parade in Downtown Binghamton. What a great group of guys. We owe much to our veterans (we really do!)
Third, we played an outside show on Sunday and a remarkably young lad came up to the band after we played a song and stated "wasn't that song from the Going Aluminum CD" ?
Let tell you this, I'm glad someone listens to our albums and this is living proof. (Sweet!)
Finally, Monday was the check hand-off day in Afton as the team gathered once again to give our $2300 earned from our 4th annual Jamboree proceeds to the Afton Food Pantry.
What made this so special was the fact that we were informed the Afton Food Pantry will receive matching funds for this event. So, $4600 is a beautiful thing. The Afton Food Panty supplied a remarkable 20,050 meals for 2011. We’re glad we could help to continue this much needed service.
We're off this weekend (no shows) and I will be headed out on two wheels this weekend in search of America. So have a great week and we hope to see you all soon down the road.
Peace,
Mikee Dee ^^
