Greetings again to everyone. By the time you read this week’s blog, it may be August. My goodness where has 2012 gone? It’s amazing how the clock just keeps ticking away week by week.
We had a couple of good shows that have come and gone last weekend. Our early show on Saturday was the 6th Annual Blueberry Festival in Coventry NY. If you missed this one, you missed a great event put on by the Coventry Fire Department and friends. There were craft vendors, food vendors, a terrific strong man competition, mud bogs, and some live Short Change music. All you needed was a lawn chair and you were there. We even got to jam out with Frank Revoir who is running in this year’s fall election for Chenango County Judge. What a nice guy, and he plays really well and sings pretty good too. Welcome aboard Frank to the SCB musical guest post located on the Short Change Band website.
So just when we thought we had a great day of music, we headed out to the second venue of the day - Harry and Melissa Pig Roast. We met some great people and had some more great food and drink which made for another great party. After it was all said and done, our day ended up ten hours later that evening. (Now that's a full day of music!)
We have played continual events before or gigs for up to seven or eight hours making a full day, but I can't remember a day where we played, packed up and played from noon to about midnight in more than one location. (And we did chase some rain drops too) Harry, thanks for inviting Jack along for fun.
Then seven hours later we headed out to our next venue - 18 holes of golf with the Short Change Band (and not to forget our mascot Jack- who followed us around again) We actually placed in the top ten, scoring an incredible 4 under par for our little captain and crew.
When it was all done, we decided to call ourselves "The Skull Crushers" hackers at best, and we felt pretty good with Sunday’s results. “The Skull Crushers” move onto Delaware County in late August for yet another tournament. (We can't wait!)
This week we have one show (it’s a private show) in Hallstead, PA for an installation dinner. So we will see of you out at our next public show sometime soon. (check our website for locations near you) www.shortchangeband.com
Well be good, I gotta run. Peace and love,
Mikee Dee^^

Short Change Band - Middle of July, 2012
Hello everyone. Once again another action packed weekend of shows took place. As we continue the “Outside Shows Circuit” we just barely beat the rain storms once again. (This week we may not be as lucky) Last Thursday evening at the Hitchin’ Post went over quite well. What started out as a beautiful day of weather evaporated into clouds and toward the end of the evening it started to drizzle a bit. It’s too bad because we had a smokin' third set too! Summertime is a funny time when it comes to the weather cooperating.
Saturday was the Annual Booze Fighters 61 pig roast/party. All I can say is this was one of the best Biker Events I have attended in a long time. The food was great including the best damn pig I've had in a while as well. Those guys treated the band like royalty. Thanks Booze Fighters - you guys are the best.
The show ran on to over 6 1/2 hours of Rock and Roll, Blues, Outlaw Country and Oldies.
We added that little special touch of Susie and Jake from the infamous Blue J's and that's all we needed to kick this show into overdrive. We had double guitar leads and three part harmonies. (it doesn't get any better than that)
And when those fellow bikers comment how well we could compete down on Long Island with their local bands, well that just makes you feel good all over.
I've always measured a good show by how many business cards you give out after each set. This one was no exception. Special thanks to the Vroman’s for putting the "T" in Texas last weekend.
This week we have two shows (One public and one private) both on Saturday 7/28/12:
Get down to the annual Blue Berry fest at the Coventry Fire house on Saturday as our first show starts at 1pm and only until 3pm.
The second show is the 3rd Annual Harry and Melisa Stock. (Oh boy, I can't wait for Saturday)
Rock on Rock out and be well. Peace and love,
Mikey^^Dee

Short Change Band - Beginning of July, 2012
Well, we can put another fun weekend into the record books as we once again come off with yet another fine week of performances with the Short Change Band.
Saturday Night we played at Crumfest. After some early afternoon rain showers the sky cleared and the humidity calmed down. We then proceeded to have one of the most enjoyable evening shows we have put on in quite some time.
We’d like to send special thanks to all the folks that came out and helped make this party (the party that it was) The food, the people, and the fireworks, and all the musicians that came up to the "brand new" personal stage of Crumfest. (priceless!) Thanks to you all.
Foster you and your crew know how to put on one heck of a good party. (salute) and special thanks to our hero Kenny for adding that personal “touch” to the show - you're the best.
This week is our mid summer break and we will be off the entire weekend for some much needed down-time. (whooo-hooo)
Have a great week and take in a piece of this beautiful summer, so get outside and enjoy the hot, dry and sunny weather and get on your bike and ride.
Peace and love,
Mikee Dee^

Short Change Band - Heading into the 4th of July, 2012
Greetings everyone. The Short change band had an amazing week last weekend. We played two outside shows (both were extended shows – five hours each) and didn’t have a drop of rain at either one. (Amen!) That's a record for us. Generally all we have to do is pull the trucks up to a location and we can make it rain, but not this year so far!
And because we had such great luck last weekend with perfect weather, we're shooting for another good weekend with two more outside shows.
This week they are in alphabetical order as well:
Friday Evening we’re at the almost annual Colesville Super Celebration located on Maple Street adjacent to the American Legion Hall. We’ll be outside - live at the Gazebo. The show begins at 7:00pm with a bonfire at dusk. The Harpursville Fire Department will be serving free Hot Dogs at the event too. So, make sure you bring your lawn chair or a blanket to spread out on (under the stars)

Saturday afternoon we will be heading up to the First Annual "Crumfest" complete in our own custom made staging area. (see the photo) If you come please bring a lawn chair to sit on and a dish to pass. (The Short Change Band is in the house!)
Have a great and most importantly, safe 4th of July week and weekend! We'll catch you next week and fill you all in as to what you missed out on this week.
Peace and Love,
Mikee^^Dee
